Applications Now Being Accepted for the Community Art Party

MERIDIAN, ID – The City of Meridian is currently accepting applications from arts organizations, performers, and other creatives who would like to showcase their programs and talents during the upcoming Community Art Party. This community event, part of the city’s annual Meridian Art Week celebration, will take place Saturday, September 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Kleiner Park Bandshell.

The free all-ages event highlights the integral role the arts play in the vibrancy of our community and highlights various arts organizations and artisans.

The Community Art Party features:
• hands-on art activities from Angry Easel and Open Letter Collective
• interactive booths and displays
• art installations and a live community mural painting
• a chalk art competition (Register at meridiancity.org/chalk-art)
• a performance by the Treasure Valley Children’s Theater, and more!

Businesses, individuals, and organizations whose primary mission is art-centric are invited to participate in this year's Community Art Party. Participants may use their space to share information, sell tickets, encourage memberships, or sell original art. The fees for a booth space are $40 for businesses and $20 for non-profit 501(c)3 organizations.

“We are so thrilled about this year’s Meridian Art Week, and in particular, the Community Art Party,” says Meridian Arts and Culture Coordinator Cassandra Schiffler. “The Treasure Valley is full of so many incredible artists and organizations that most people don’t know about; the Art Party is a chance for people of all ages to learn more about our vibrant arts community, and to connect with local artists and organizations working in visual, literary, theater, dance, and music arts.”
